Senior Event Manager, Global Experiential Marketing (Industry & 3rd Party Tradeshows)

Primary Purpose

As Senior Event Manager, Global Experiential Marketing, your primary responsibility is to develop strategies and lead a cross-functional team to execute at the highest level a wide variety of in-person large Industry & 3rd Party Events and Tradeshows to drive business outcomes and raise the bar on content and the customer experience with the goal of educating new and existing customers. You will be responsible for events around the globe including but not limited to tradeshow planning and attendance, securing speaking opportunities, representing us at industry events or community meet up’s, virtual events, webinars, and implementing integrated marketing campaigns with a focus on Cloud. Ai and Alliances.

The role requires a thorough understanding of and experience in small to large industry and 3rd party tradeshows, event selection, planning, production, and a broader marketing acumen to successfully collaborate with leaders across the company to deliver against business objectives, financial targets, ROI, advance the NetApp brand, products, and services. Your events will create brand awareness, generate leads and pipeline as well as position NetApp as a thought-leader through both industry and NetApp led activities. 

You will create an experience from start-to-finish. You will own and drive the discovery, design, development, delivery and post event reporting and budget reconciliation. You will actively manage end-to-end project, budget and timeline (including event logistics, financial management, fabrication / graphic / production timelines, vendor timelines, creative deliverables).

You will form a strong relationship with our internal marketing and sales stakeholders to contribute to the program strategy and planning. Global Event Marketing demands creativity and energy combined with attention to detail and an ability to multitask while working in a fast-moving environment.  

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with GTM stakeholders and marketing teams to develop and execute the strategy for a third-party event that aligns with overall business priorities, strategy and branding and supports marketing and business KPI’s
  • Act as the key decision maker on our events strategy – identifying where we can engage our target audiences, and what experience they will have with us at that event to drive interest and engagement.
  • Establish event goals, objectives, and priorities with business, marketing and agency partners. Define effective metrics to measure and report ROI in conjunction with marketing operations and sales. Drive opportunities for sales to engage prospects and partners
  • Project manage end to end planning, production, and execution of large and small scale B2B events including but not limited to booth build, venue sourcing and negotiation, registration, tech and platform sourcing, technical production management, housing, creative design, agency sourcing, booth staffing, content, speaker selection, agenda, flows, giveaways, collateral, catering requirements, experience set-ups, revenue tracking and materials support etc.
  • Concept development, budget formation, team coordination, timeline management, presentation writing and delivery of presentations
  • Drive creative ideation and execution with internal and external partners looking for ways to increase event presence and engagement
  • Create and maintain project plan for each phase with resource plan, defined milestones and associated tasks, and timeline 
  • Ensure that event activities are part of an integrated marketing campaign and not stand alone. Drive audience acquisition where needed. Pre, during and post awareness of NetApp’s attendance of event to drive pre-event engagement to sign up to VIP programs and pre-book meetings, onsite engagement and meetings, post event follow up, lead management and progression.
  • Work closely with Marketing to incorporate brand messaging into event experience 
  • Provide functionality improvements to day-to-day processes, bring new ideas and concepts to event programs 
  • Communicate event details with internal stakeholders
  • Manage vendor activity and relationships (ensuring effective communications, selection, quotes/orders, PO/invoice processing, general management, onsite load-in/show planning, etc.) and lead areas onsite and build processes for repeatable and scalable event activities.
  • Qualify all production vendors to ensure they meet NetApp standards while exceeding company expectations
  • Ensure all production exceeds objectives at every step in the process while setting a high benchmark for production excellence
  • Negotiate the event sponsorship packages and production agencies and programs and manage to budget
  • Manage $1M + budgets, reporting on spend and ROI generated for each program
  • Maintain accuracy and accountability of event budget
  • Collect and document contract and invoices related to the event, working closely with Legal and Finance teams to ensure on-time execution of related deliverables 
  • Create post-event and evaluations and ROI analysis of attendee data, lead generation, contribution to pipeline, and accelerating the sales cycle to gauge the success of the program and inform future decision making and share results and recommendations with sales and marketing teams
  • Regularly update the marketing leadership team on the status of trends, metrics, challenges/solutions, forecast, and strategy to drive brand awareness and pipeline growth. 
  • Ensure compliance and risk guidelines are followed 

Skills And Competencies 

  • Minimum 10yrs of event marketing experience (preferably in a technology environment); with a primary focus of delivering on both large and small live and virtual industry and 3rd party tradeshow event programs that require booth builds and that align to the customer journey and sales goals with commitment to deliver against pipeline targets 
  • You know how to think about overall third-party event design and sponsorship negotiation, ensuring each event will drive demand gen activity, generate high quality lead volume and achieve measurable results.
  • Highly proactive, innovative, collaborative, organized, detailed-oriented, and analytical self-starter leader who is capable of effectively managing several projects simultaneously from a variety of stakeholders and vendors and stay calm under pressure 
  • Excellence in time management skills and follow up to ensure meeting on time deliverables 
  • Experience managing direct reports and developing others 
  • Eloquent, passionate, confident, insightful, enthusiastic, driven, creative and entrepreneurial about delivering groundbreaking experiences.

This is the pay range that Magnit reasonably expects to pay for this position: $43-65/Hr
