The Professional Services Engineer (PSE) in our Global Services Solutions Centre provides post-sales technical expertise during the installation, implementation, migration and maintenance of company products. This individual may be involved in implementing detailed customer installation requirements, as well as ensuring that client’s needs have been met and that the product/solution is fully functioning according to specification. The PSE provides follow-up support to company sales staff and customer personnel by disseminating technical information on specific applications.

• Requires high level understanding of the NetApp portfolio of products and advanced knowledge of ONTAP.
• Good understanding of SAN and NAS protocols, RAID concepts.
• Experienced in NetApp Storage (Administering NetApp Storage – CDOT, troubleshooting Issues, performing firmware and operating system upgrades, using storage management tools – Active IQ Unified Manager, ONTAP system manager, Blue XP classification)
• Proficient understanding of NetApp Storage concepts, and related Storage technologies (Snapshots, WORM, controller failover, provisioning, advance configuration, efficiency technologies, cloning, Snapmirror, SVM DR, MetroCluster) including monitoring and troubleshooting, administration, and replication technologies.
• Intermediate knowledge on Host platform like Windows, Linux, VMware file systems will be required.
• Basic knowledge on Netapp products like Storage grid ,E-Series, Cloud insight and Cloud products
• Intermediate level knowledge of several NetApp migration related products/technologies such as FLI , XCP, Cloud-Sync, Robocopy and rsync to successfully complete configuration, execution and troubleshooting of migration jobs.
• Knowledge of SnapMirror, possessing the ability to manually create jobs and manage them
• Hands on experience on SVM DR and DR testing.
• Possess the ability to work at the direction of Project managers, as well as often self-manage engagements to ensure customer engagements.
• Possess awareness of customer architecture and how it affects migration planning and execution
• Articulate in the end-to-end Migration solutions, with an emphasis on being customer centric and focused
• Strong verbal and written communications skills are essential and are utilized in communicating with team members, systems administrators, and managers.
• Ability to work collaboratively with other engineers and managers in a team environment to share best practices and meet aggressive goals and meet high quality standards.
• Ability to work well with customers’ technical representatives under a variety of circumstances to best understand and meet customer expectations.
• Positive, proactive, team-orientated attitude with a flexible and innovative approach to work.
• Ontap Certification (NCDA or NCTA) and cloud related certificates will be an added advantage.


Education
Typically requires a minimum of 4 -8 years of related experience with a bachelor’s degree, and preferably 6 years; or 3 years and a master’s degree; or a PhD with relevant professional experience; or equivalent combination of professional education/training and applicable work experience.
